Which Pokémon game was a 1999 Nintendo 64 photography spin-off?

The story behind the answer

Pokémon Snap was the 1999 Nintendo 64 photography spin-off.

Instead of catching Pokémon in turn-based battles, players control the photographer Todd Snap and travel through Pokémon Island in a vehicle called the Zero-One. Professor Oak evaluates the photographs, rewarding pictures based on factors such as the Pokémon’s size, position, and pose.

The game was developed by HAL Laboratory and first released in Japan on March 21, 1999. It later arrived in North America on July 26, 1999, and in PAL regions in September 2000. Its real-time 3D presentation made it one of the earliest console Pokémon games to render many creatures in 3D.

Pokémon Snap began as a non-Pokémon project called Jack and the Beanstalk for the delayed Nintendo 64DD accessory. Development shifted to a Pokémon photography game, and the finished title became known for its unusual rail-based exploration and photo-scoring system.
