Which Pokémon game brought 3D battles to the Nintendo 64 in 1999?

The story behind the answer

Pokémon Stadium brought 3D Pokémon battles to the Nintendo 64 in 1999.

Developed and published by Nintendo, Pokémon Stadium presented turn-based battles with 3D models and animations rather than the sprites used in the Game Boy games. Its battles centered on the original 151 Pokémon and included tournament Cups, Gym Leader Castle challenges, and multiplayer modes.

The game connected to Pokémon Red, Blue, and Yellow through the Nintendo 64 Transfer Pak. Players could transfer Pokémon from their Game Boy cartridges, use them in battles, and access features such as storage and organization. This connection helped make Stadium more than a standalone fighting game.

A common mix-up concerns the Japan-only Pocket Monsters Stadium, released in 1998 with only 40 usable Pokémon. The internationally released Pokémon Stadium followed in 1999 and expanded the playable roster to all 151 original species.
