Which Pokémon franchise company is jointly owned by Nintendo, Creatures, and Game Freak?
Answer
The Pokémon Company
Answer
The Pokémon Company
The Pokémon Company is jointly owned by Nintendo, Creatures, and Game Freak.
The three companies are the principal owners associated with the Pokémon brand in Japan. Nintendo published the original games, Game Freak developed them, and Creatures became closely involved with the trading card game and other franchise operations.
The company began as Pokémon Center Co., Ltd. in 1998 and adopted the name The Pokémon Company in 2000. Its role includes brand management, licensing, marketing, publishing, and coordination across video games, cards, animation, films, and merchandise.
The Pokémon Company International is a related subsidiary that manages much of the franchise outside Asia. It is therefore not the same legal entity as The Pokémon Company. Pokémon USA, Inc. was an earlier American affiliate established in 2001, before the international organization was formed.
