Ash Ketchum became the World Champion in Pokémon Ultimate Journeys: The Series.
Ash achieved the title by winning the Pokémon World Coronation Series. In the final tournament, he defeated Leon, the Champion associated with the Galar region. The victory was the culmination of Ash’s long-running anime journey, which began with the first episode in 1997.
Before becoming World Champion, Ash had already won the Alola League in Pokémon the Series: Sun & Moon. That made him a regional Champion, but the World Coronation Series victory placed him at the top of the anime’s global competition.
Ash and Pikachu later received a concluding storyline in which Ash pursued the broader goal of becoming a Pokémon Master. The character was then replaced as the central protagonist by new leads in Pokémon Horizons: The Series. Ash’s victory is therefore both a major competitive milestone and a closing chapter in his 25-season run.
