Mamadou Sangare supplied the assist for Brentford’s first goal in their 3–0 win over Tottenham Hotspur in the 2026–27 Premier League opener.
Sangare, Brentford’s club-record signing, made an immediate impact on his debut by setting up Keane Lewis-Potter in the 12th minute. The early goal gave Brentford control of a match they ultimately won comfortably.
Vitaly Janelt doubled the lead before half-time, and Michael Kayode completed the scoring after the interval. Brentford also missed a penalty through Igor Thiago, meaning the Bees could have won by an even larger margin.
The result continued Brentford’s strong trajectory after they matched their best-ever Premier League finish the previous season. Tottenham, meanwhile, began the campaign under Roberto De Zerbi and faced an unexpectedly difficult opening night.
