Which player scored Aston Villa’s equaliser in the 2026 UEFA Super Cup?
Answer
Brian Madjo
Answer
Brian Madjo
Brian Madjo scored Aston Villa’s equaliser in the 2026 UEFA Super Cup.
Madjo brought Aston Villa level in the 45th minute after Paris Saint-Germain had taken the lead. He finished from close range following a cross by John McGinn, making the score 1–1 just before half-time. PSG later scored again to win the final 2–1.
The goal had additional historical importance: Madjo became the youngest player ever to score in the UEFA Super Cup, doing so at 17 years and 212 days. That record is distinct from the match’s Player of the Match award and from the players who scored PSG’s goals.
Madjo’s goal was Aston Villa’s only one in the final. The club had qualified as the 2025–26 Europa League winner and was seeking its second Super Cup title, but the equaliser did not lead to victory. PSG’s second-half goal ultimately settled the match in Salzburg.
