Disney+ released Taylor Swift’s Folklore: The Long Pond Studio Sessions film, which features “august.”
The documentary premiered on November 25, 2020. It shows Swift performing all 17 songs from Folklore at Long Pond Studio in New York’s Hudson Valley, alongside collaborators Aaron Dessner and Jack Antonoff.
The sessions were significant because the collaborators had created much of the album remotely during pandemic restrictions. The film brought them together in the same room to perform stripped-down versions and discuss how the songs were made.
The documentary also produced a live album soundtrack. That soundtrack is separate from the original Folklore studio album, so the performance of “august” in the film should not be mistaken for the song’s original recording released in July.
