Which planned Operation Downfall phase would have invaded southern Kyushu?

The story behind the answer

Operation Olympic was the planned Operation Downfall phase that would have invaded southern Kyushu.

The Allies designed Operation Downfall as a two-part invasion plan for Japan. Olympic was scheduled to begin on November 1, 1945, with landings on southern Kyushu, Japan’s southernmost main island. The captured area would have supplied airfields and staging positions for the next phase.

The second phase, Operation Coronet, was planned for the Kantō Plain near Tokyo on Honshu. Operation Downfall was canceled after Japan surrendered in August 1945, so neither invasion phase was carried out.

Olympic is sometimes confused with Coronet because both belonged to the same overall plan. Olympic targeted Kyushu first, while Coronet targeted the Tokyo region later. Operation Pastel was a deception plan associated with Olympic, not the invasion phase itself.
