Which planet has Pandora as one of its moons?

The story behind the answer

Saturn has Pandora as one of its moons.

Pandora is a small inner moon of Saturn that orbits near the planet’s narrow F ring. It was discovered in photographs taken by the Voyager 1 spacecraft in October 1980, although the discovery was announced later. Its provisional designation was S/1980 S 26.

The moon is classified as a shepherd satellite because its gravity helps influence the material in Saturn’s rings. Pandora works in the F-ring region alongside Prometheus, another small moon. Their interactions contribute to the ring’s braided and kinked appearance.

Pandora is not the only astronomical object named after the mythological figure. Asteroid 55 Pandora also carries the name, but it is a separate body located in the asteroid belt. The moon’s name therefore refers to Saturn’s satellite, not the asteroid or the myth alone.
