Which Pixar Cars movie introduced Francesco Bernoulli?

Cars 2 introduced Francesco Bernoulli, the Italian rival of Lightning McQueen.

Francesco is a Formula One-style open-wheel race car who competes against McQueen in the World Grand Prix. His confidence and theatrical personality make him one of the film’s principal racing rivals. John Turturro provides Francesco’s English voice.

Cars 2 expanded the series beyond Radiator Springs and American stock-car racing. The story sends Lightning McQueen and Mater to international locations, including Japan, Italy, and England. The World Grand Prix gives the sequel a global setting while a spy-thriller plot involving alternative fuel and international criminals unfolds alongside the races.

Francesco is sometimes mistaken for a character from Cars 3 because he is part of McQueen’s broader racing history. However, he appears in Cars 2, which was released in 2011. Cars 3 returned the focus to McQueen’s changing position in professional racing and introduced Jackson Storm as a newer rival.
