Which Pinterest co-founder was CEO before Bill Ready?

Ben Silbermann was the Pinterest co-founder who served as CEO before Bill Ready. Silbermann led the company for more than a decade, from its early startup years through its growth into a major publicly traded technology company.

Pinterest was founded by Silbermann, Paul Sciarra, and Evan Sharp. Although all three are co-founders, they did not occupy the same executive role for the same period. Sciarra left Pinterest in 2012, while Sharp became known primarily for his product and design leadership.

On June 29, 2022, Bill Ready became Pinterest’s CEO, succeeding Silbermann. Silbermann did not leave the company entirely: he transitioned to the newly created role of executive chairman. The common mix-up is choosing another co-founder, especially Evan Sharp, but the outgoing CEO was specifically Silbermann.
