Which PGA Tour event is played at TPC Scottsdale's Stadium Course?

The PGA Tour event played at TPC Scottsdale’s Stadium Course is the WM Phoenix Open. The tournament moved to the Stadium Course in 1987 and has made the Scottsdale venue one of the most recognizable stops on the PGA Tour.

The event began in 1932 and was originally known as the Arizona Open. For most of its history it was called the Phoenix Open, but sponsorship changes produced names including the FBR Open before the current WM Phoenix Open branding. It is held in Scottsdale, Arizona, rather than in the city of Phoenix itself.

TPC Scottsdale’s Stadium Course is especially famous for its par-3 16th hole, surrounded by temporary grandstands that can hold roughly 20,000 spectators. It is often described as the PGA Tour’s only fully enclosed hole, creating an unusually loud and theatrical atmosphere.

A common mix-up is confusing the WM Phoenix Open with the Rocket Classic, Zurich Classic or Valero Texas Open. Those are separate PGA Tour tournaments played at different venues. The Stadium Course is also distinct from TPC Scottsdale’s Champions Course.
