Which performance group provided the halftime show for Super Bowl X’s Bicentennial-themed program in 1976?

The story behind the answer

Up with People provided the halftime show for Super Bowl X’s Bicentennial-themed program in 1976.

Super Bowl X was played on January 18, 1976, at the Orange Bowl in Miami. Because the United States was preparing to celebrate its 200th anniversary, the game’s entertainment used an explicitly patriotic Bicentennial theme.

The halftime production was titled “200 Years and Just a Baby: A Tribute to America’s Bicentennial.” Up with People, an international educational and performance organization known for large casts and upbeat pop presentations, supplied the performers.

The game itself was also dressed for the occasion. Players from the Pittsburgh Steelers and Dallas Cowboys wore a special Bicentennial logo patch on their jerseys, and the Cowboys used red, white, and blue striping on their helmets during the 1976 season. The Steelers won the game 21–17.
