Kathiawar, also called Saurashtra, is the large peninsula forming southwestern Gujarat. The Gulf of Kutch borders it to the northwest, while the Gulf of Khambhat separates it from southeastern Gujarat to the east. Its southern and southwestern shores face the Arabian Sea.
