Which pedestrian bridge in Malaysia curves across Langkawi’s mountains and opened to visitors in 2005?

The story behind the answer

The Langkawi Sky Bridge is the curved pedestrian bridge crossing Malaysia’s Gunung Mat Cincang mountain area.

Located on Langkawi Island, the bridge opened to visitors in 2005. It is suspended about 100 metres above the ground and stretches approximately 125 metres between support points. Rather than crossing a river or road, it carries visitors through a mountainous landscape above the rainforest.

The bridge is reached by the Langkawi Cable Car, which climbs from the Oriental Village to the mountain station. Its curved deck provides changing views of the Andaman Sea, nearby islands, and the forested slopes of Langkawi.

The Langkawi Sky Bridge is often confused with Penang Bridge, a major road crossing connecting Penang Island with the Malaysian mainland. The Sky Bridge is principally a scenic pedestrian attraction, not a highway route.
