Which organization jointly operates the International Trade Centre with the United Nations?

The story behind the answer

The World Trade Organization jointly operates the International Trade Centre with the United Nations.

The International Trade Centre, commonly called ITC, is the joint agency of the United Nations and the World Trade Organization. It focuses on helping small and medium-sized enterprises in developing and transition economies participate in international trade.

ITC provides trade intelligence, business-support tools, training and assistance with export development. Its work includes market-access information and efforts to strengthen the competitiveness of enterprises, particularly those that face barriers to entering global markets.

ITC has roots in the trade-promotion work of the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade. It became a joint UN-GATT organization in 1964 and later continued its partnership with the WTO after the WTO was created in 1995. It is distinct from UN Trade and Development, formerly known as UNCTAD.
