Which Nintendo Switch games are remakes of the 1998 Game Boy title Pokémon Yellow?

The story behind the answer

Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Let’s Go, Eevee! are remakes of the 1998 Game Boy title Pokémon Yellow.

The two Nintendo Switch games revisit the Kanto region and include the eight Gyms, the Elite Four, Team Rocket, and many characters from the original adventure. Their structure also reflects Pokémon Yellow’s anime-inspired approach, including a prominent partner Pikachu or Eevee.

The games use a catching system influenced by Pokémon Go rather than the traditional battle-first capture process. Players can throw Poké Balls with motion controls or button inputs, and the games connect with Pokémon Go for transferring certain Pokémon.

Released worldwide on November 16, 2018, the titles were designed to welcome newcomers while offering a modern version of the first-generation setting. They were also the first main-series Pokémon games released for a home console rather than a dedicated handheld system.
