Which Nintendo console received Overwatch in October 2019?

The story behind the answer

The Nintendo console that received Overwatch in October 2019 was the Nintendo Switch.

Blizzard announced the port during a September 2019 Nintendo Direct, expanding the hero shooter beyond its original PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One releases. The Switch edition, titled Overwatch: Legendary Edition, launched in North America and Europe on October 15, 2019; Japan received it later that year.

Iron Galaxy helped develop the Switch version. It included the game's existing heroes, maps, and modes, while adding support for the console's motion controls in selected situations. For example, players could use gyroscopic aiming for actions involving heroes such as Junkrat and Wrecking Ball.

The release is sometimes confused with other Nintendo hardware because Blizzard had supported several Nintendo systems with different franchises. Overwatch did not receive versions for the GameCube, Wii U, or Nintendo 3DS. The Switch port was also notable because it brought a major online team shooter to Nintendo's hybrid console, although it originally ran with technical compromises compared with the other platforms.
