Which Nintendo console originally released Pokémon Snap?

Pokémon Snap was originally released for the Nintendo 64.

Developed by HAL Laboratory and published by Nintendo, Pokémon Snap is a photography-focused Pokémon game rather than a traditional role-playing adventure. Players control Todd Snap, who travels through Pokémon Island and photographs wild Pokémon in their natural environments.

The Nintendo 64 version was first released in Japan in 1999, followed by releases in North America and Europe. The game used the console’s 3D capabilities to create courses through beaches, caves, rivers, tunnels and other habitats.

Players earned evaluations for photographs based on factors such as subject size, positioning and how clearly the Pokémon appeared. Pokémon Snap later received a sequel, New Pokémon Snap, for Nintendo Switch in 2021. The original game is therefore associated with the Nintendo 64, not the Game Boy Color or Nintendo GameCube.
