Nintendo Today! revealed Rhythm Heaven Groove’s July 2, 2026 release date. The announcement arrived on April 9, 2026, roughly a year after Nintendo first introduced the game with only a 2026 release window.

The app post also included new gameplay footage, giving players an early look at one of Groove’s rhythm challenges. Nintendo increasingly uses Nintendo Today! as a news and content hub, so the reveal did not come through a traditional Nintendo Direct.

The game launched for Nintendo Switch and is also playable on Nintendo Switch 2. It is the fifth main entry in the Rhythm Heaven series, following Rhythm Heaven Megamix, which released for Nintendo 3DS in 2015 in Japan and 2016 elsewhere.
