Bruce Kilgore designed Nike’s Air Force 1 basketball shoe.

The Air Force 1 launched in 1982 and was named after the aircraft used by the president of the United States. Kilgore’s design was Nike’s first basketball shoe to use the company’s Air cushioning technology, which had previously appeared in running footwear such as the Air Tailwind.
