Which NHRA team is owned by 16-time Funny Car champion John Force?
Answer
John Force Racing
Answer
John Force Racing
John Force Racing is the NHRA team owned by 16-time Funny Car champion John Force.
Force founded and owns the California-based organization, commonly abbreviated JFR. The team grew from his own Funny Car operation into one of the most successful organizations in NHRA history, fielding cars for Force, family members and other elite drivers. Its identity is closely tied to Force’s long career, his major sponsors and the large “First Family of Drag Racing” presence around the team.
JFR’s championships have not all been won by John Force himself. Teammates including Tony Pedregon, Robert Hight, Brittany Force and Austin Prock have also won NHRA titles while driving for the organization. Brittany Force’s 2017 championship was especially notable because it gave the team its first Top Fuel title; JFR had previously been synonymous primarily with Funny Car racing.
The wording can cause a common mix-up between an owner and a driver. John Force is the 16-time Funny Car champion driver, while John Force Racing is the team he owns. Elite Motorsports, Kalitta Motorsports and Don Schumacher Racing are separate NHRA organizations.
