Which New Year's Eve television special is hosted by Ryan Seacrest and airs on ABC?

Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve is the ABC New Year’s Eve television special hosted by Ryan Seacrest.

The program began in 1972, created by and named for broadcaster Dick Clark. It combined musical performances with live coverage of the Times Square ball drop and became a major American New Year’s Eve broadcast tradition.

Ryan Seacrest became the principal host in the 2000s and later continued as executive producer. The special has also used co-hosts and correspondents in Times Square and other locations, reflecting celebrations across the United States.

The program is distinct from CNN’s New Year’s Eve coverage and from NBC’s New Year’s Eve specials. Its full title preserves Dick Clark’s name even though Clark was no longer the regular presenter in his later years.
