Which network originally aired 'Scooby-Doo, Where Are You!'?

The story behind the answer

*Scooby-Doo, Where Are You!* originally aired on CBS.

The Hanna-Barbera animated series premiered on CBS on September 13, 1969, as part of the network’s Saturday-morning schedule. Its first broadcast featured the Mystery, Inc. team—Fred, Daphne, Velma, Shaggy, and Scooby-Doo—investigating apparently supernatural cases that usually ended with a human culprit being unmasked.

The program was developed during a period when television networks and parent groups were concerned about violent superhero cartoons. CBS and Hanna-Barbera wanted a gentler mystery-adventure show, which helped shape the series’ balance of spooky imagery, comedy, and nonviolent detective work.

The original run lasted two seasons, ending in 1970, with reruns continuing afterward. The franchise later moved among networks: ABC carried later Scooby-Doo productions, while Cartoon Network and related channels became major homes for reruns and new series. That later network history can make ABC seem like the original broadcaster, but the debut network was CBS.
