“Teardrop” is a song by the English trip-hop group Massive Attack. Its distinctive vocal line and electronic arrangement accompanied the show's opening titles on the original U.S. broadcast, helping establish the series' recognizable sound.
The song appeared on Massive Attack's 1998 album Mezzanine. Elizabeth Fraser of the Cocteau Twins provided the lead vocals, a detail that sometimes causes people to identify Fraser rather than Massive Attack as the answer.
