Which musician co-wrote Taylor Swift’s “august” with Swift?

Jack Antonoff co-wrote Taylor Swift’s “august” with Swift.

Antonoff had already collaborated with Swift on songs from 1989, Reputation, and Lover before working with her on Folklore. For “august,” he first created the instrumental and sent it to Swift, who wrote the lyrics and melody intuitively.

Antonoff was also one of the song’s producers. His production helps give “august” its layered dream-pop character, with reverberant vocals, guitars, keyboards, and strings supporting the song’s hazy late-summer atmosphere.

Aaron Dessner is an important Folklore collaborator, but he did not co-write “august.” Joe Alwyn was credited as a producer on the track, while Bon Iver contributed to other Folklore material rather than this song.
