Which Muppet character is a manic drummer?

The manic drummer in the Muppets is Animal.

Animal is the wild, frenzied drummer for Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem, the Muppets’ fictional rock band. His explosive playing, shaggy appearance, guttural speech, and uncontrolled appetite make him one of the troupe’s most instantly recognizable comic characters.

He first appeared in The Muppet Show: Sex and Violence in 1975, before becoming a regular presence on The Muppet Show. Frank Oz originally performed Animal, and Eric Jacobson has regularly performed him since the early 2000s. British jazz drummer Ronnie Verrell supplied the character’s actual drumming on The Muppet Show.

Animal is sometimes said to be based on a particular rock drummer, such as Keith Moon or John Bonham, but no single inspiration is definitively established. The character is better understood as a comic amalgam of rock-drummer stereotypes. Floyd Pepper is the band’s bassist, while Dr. Teeth is its keyboardist and leader.
