Which Moscow Metro station has the longest escalators?

Park Pobedy has the Moscow Metro’s longest escalators. Each escalator is 126 metres long and has 740 steps, with the ride to the surface taking about three minutes.

The station is unusually deep because it lies about 84 metres underground, making it Moscow’s deepest metro station according to official figures. Its depth required exceptionally long escalator tunnels and helped give the station its record-setting infrastructure.

Park Pobedy opened on 6 May 2003 and serves the Arbatsko-Pokrovskaya and Kalininsko-Solntsevskaya lines. It is in Moscow’s Dorogomilovo District, beneath Kutuzovsky Avenue, and has two island platforms.

The station is also notable for its design. Its platform halls use contrasting red and pale-grey marble, while large mosaics by Zurab Tsereteli depict the 1812 French invasion of Russia and the Second World War. The escalator record is sometimes confused with the station’s separate claim to great depth.
