Kate Moss became the first person to appear on the cover of British Vogue in three consecutive decades.
Moss first appeared on British Vogue’s cover in the early 1990s and continued appearing there through the 2000s and 2010s. Her repeated presence reflected an unusually long modeling career and helped make her one of the defining faces of late twentieth-century and early twenty-first-century fashion.
She was discovered at New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport in 1988 by Sarah Doukas of Storm Model Management. Moss became closely associated with the minimalist “heroin chic” imagery of the 1990s, although her work also included luxury campaigns, editorial photography, and commercial fashion. The three-decade record concerns British Vogue covers; it does not mean she was the first model to work across three decades generally.
