Thalía co-starred in the 1987 Mexican telenovela Quinceañera.
Thalía played one of the two central teenage characters in the series, alongside Adela Noriega. The program was produced by Televisa and became associated with youth-oriented Mexican television drama. Its title refers to the fifteenth-birthday tradition and the social expectations surrounding adolescence.
Thalía later became internationally known as a singer and as the star of several successful telenovelas. Her appearance in Quinceañera belongs to the early part of her television career, before many of her later international music successes.
This fact is easy to mix up with other Mexican pop stars who also acted in television productions. Paulina Rubio, Gloria Trevi, and Belinda are different performers. The relevant series is the 1987 telenovela, not the 2006 film of the same name.
