Televisa produced the 1987 Mexican television series Quinceañera.
The series was a Televisa telenovela starring Adela Noriega and Thalía. It centered on teenage characters and the social world surrounding adolescence, romance, family expectations, and quinceañera celebrations. Its production and broadcast history place it within Mexico’s long-running tradition of nationally distributed serialized dramas.
Televisa is a major Mexican media company and television network. It has produced many famous telenovelas, making it important to distinguish the network from later or international broadcasters that may have distributed Mexican programming.
Quinceañera is also the title of a separate 2006 film directed by Richard Glatzer and Wash Westmoreland. That film is not a Televisa television production. Identifying the year and medium prevents the two similarly titled works from being conflated.
