Televisa produced the 1987 Mexican telenovela Quinceañera.
The series was a Televisa production starring Adela Noriega and Thalía. Its plot focused on adolescent life, relationships, family expectations, and social class, while its title referenced the important fifteenth-birthday tradition in Spanish-speaking communities.
Televisa is a major Mexican mass-media company with a long history of producing telenovelas. Its programs have been distributed widely across Latin America and among Spanish-speaking audiences internationally. Quinceañera became one of the broadcaster’s recognizable youth-oriented dramas from the late 1980s.
TV Azteca is another major Mexican broadcaster, but it was not the producer of this series. Telemundo and Univision are major Spanish-language media brands in the United States, also distinct from the Mexican production company credited for the telenovela.
