Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Let’s Go, Eevee! were the first main-series Pokémon games released for Nintendo Switch.
The paired games launched worldwide on November 16, 2018. They revisit the setting and broad story of Pokémon Yellow, taking players through the Kanto region while using capture mechanics inspired by Pokémon Go. Each version features a different partner Pokémon: Pikachu in one edition and Eevee in the other.
The games were designed to be accessible to newer players while retaining core elements such as exploration, battles, Gym challenges, and collecting. Wild Pokémon encounters use a direct throwing system rather than the traditional weakening-and-battling approach used in most main-series titles.
Pokémon Quest arrived on Switch earlier in 2018, but it is a spin-off rather than a main-series role-playing game. Pokémon Sword and Shield followed Let’s Go later, in November 2019, and introduced the Galar region as the franchise’s next major generation.
