Which macOS version was the last to include the Dashboard feature?

The story behind the answer

macOS Mojave (10.14) was the last macOS version to include the Dashboard feature.

Dashboard debuted in Mac OS X Tiger 10.4 as a dedicated space for small widgets, including Weather, Stocks, Calculator, Stickies, and Dictionary. Users could open Dashboard from the Dock, Launchpad, a keyboard key, or a configured hot corner. In OS X Lion, it became configurable as a separate desktop space.

Dashboard was still present in Mojave, released in 2018, although Apple had already disabled it by default starting with OS X Yosemite. macOS Catalina 10.15, released in 2019, removed Dashboard entirely. This makes Catalina a common mix-up: it was the first version without Dashboard, not the last version with it. Modern macOS later brought desktop widgets back in Sonoma, but those are a newer system integrated with Notification Center rather than the original Dashboard environment.
