Chayanne recorded the popular quinceañera waltz song “Tiempo de Vals.”
The Puerto Rican singer released “Tiempo de Vals” as a Spanish-language song associated with formal dances and milestone celebrations. Its title translates as “Time for a Waltz,” making it especially suitable for the vals portion of many quinceañera receptions.
Chayanne, whose birth name is Elmer Figueroa Arce, became one of the best-known Latin pop performers of his generation. His polished romantic repertoire helped the song travel widely among Spanish-speaking audiences and Latino communities.
The song is popular, not mandatory. Families may select another waltz, a different Chayanne recording, instrumental music, or a contemporary track. A song’s association with quinceañeras therefore reflects widespread custom rather than a requirement of the ceremony.
