Which landmark appears on the reverse of the 2026 America250 Declaration of Independence quarter?

The story behind the answer

The Liberty Bell appears on the reverse of the 2026 America250 Declaration of Independence quarter.

The quarter’s obverse features Thomas Jefferson, widely recognized as the principal author of the Declaration of Independence. Its reverse shows the Liberty Bell tolling, linking the coin to Philadelphia and to the revolutionary-era document it commemorates.

The Liberty Bell is displayed at the Liberty Bell Center in Independence National Historical Park in Philadelphia. Although the bell is strongly associated with independence, there is no reliable evidence that it rang on July 4, 1776.

This quarter is one of five semiquincentennial quarter designs. Other designs honor the Mayflower Compact, the Revolutionary War, the Constitution, and the Gettysburg Address. The Liberty Bell design is therefore specific to the Declaration quarter, not the entire 2026 quarter series.
