Which Kellogg's cereal, introduced in 1906, became one of the world's first widely marketed packaged breakfast cereals?

The story behind the answer

Kellogg's Corn Flakes, introduced in 1906, became one of the world's first widely marketed packaged breakfast cereals.

Will Kell Kellogg developed the toasted corn flake after earlier experiments with grain-based foods at the Battle Creek Sanitarium in Michigan. The flakes were initially made from wheat before corn became the defining ingredient. The Kellogg Toasted Corn Flake Company began selling the cereal commercially in 1906.

Corn Flakes helped establish the modern boxed-cereal industry. Its packaging, branding, and ready-to-eat format made it convenient for households that previously prepared porridge or other cooked grains. The product is associated with John Harvey Kellogg's dietary ideas, but the commercial company was led by his brother Will.

A common mix-up is confusing Corn Flakes with Rice Krispies, another Kellogg's cereal introduced later, in 1928. Corn Flakes is also distinct from Kellogg's Corn Pops and other corn-based cereals.
