Which J.K. Rowling novel features the magical lost toy called the Christmas Pig?

The Christmas Pig features the magical lost toy called the Christmas Pig.

The Christmas Pig is a children’s fantasy novel published in 2021. Its protagonist, Jack, loses his favorite toy, a stuffed pig known as Dur Pig. On Christmas Eve, a replacement toy called the Christmas Pig comes to life and guides Jack into the Land of the Lost, where missing objects are found.

The story focuses on loss, memory, friendship, and the emotional importance people attach to possessions. It is a standalone novel rather than another installment in the Harry Potter series. The book was released with illustrations by Jim Field.

The title can cause confusion because the Christmas Pig is both the name of the replacement toy and the title of the novel. Dur Pig is the toy Jack loses at the beginning. Rowling’s earlier standalone children’s fantasy, The Ickabog, appeared in 2020 and is set in the fictional kingdom of Cornucopia.
