Which Japanese island was the planned Allied Operation Olympic invasion intended to attack in November 1945?

The story behind the answer

The planned Allied Operation Olympic invasion was intended to attack Kyushu in November 1945.

Operation Olympic was the first phase of Operation Downfall, the proposed Allied invasion of Japan. Its target was southern Kyushu, where Allied planners expected to establish airfields and staging areas for a later assault. The operation was scheduled for November 1, 1945, but Japan surrendered before it could begin.

The second phase, Operation Coronet, was planned for March 1946 and would have targeted the Kantō Plain near Tokyo on Honshu. Olympic and Coronet were therefore separate operations with different geographic objectives. Confusing their targets can lead to an incorrect answer even when the general subject is remembered correctly.

The atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, the Soviet entry into the war, Japan's internal political decision to surrender, and the resulting Allied acceptance made Downfall unnecessary. The invasion plans nevertheless shaped Allied preparations and estimates of the possible human and material cost of continuing the war.
