Which Italian car maker launched the Lamborghini Miura in 1966?

The story behind the answer

Lamborghini launched the Miura in 1966.

The Miura debuted at the 1966 Geneva Motor Show and is widely credited with establishing the modern high-performance sports-car layout: a transversely mounted mid-engine placed behind the passenger compartment. Its name came from a famous Spanish fighting-bull breeding line.

The chassis was developed by Gian Paolo Dallara, Paolo Stanzani, and Bob Wallace, while Marcello Gandini designed the striking Bertone body. The car used a 3.9-liter V12 engine derived from the unit in Lamborghini’s front-engined 400GT.

Although earlier racing cars had used mid-engine layouts, the Miura brought that arrangement into a road car with dramatic styling and grand-touring comfort. Later versions included the Miura S and SV, with the SV generally regarded as the final and most developed production form.
