Which House M.D. episode is the first part of the two-part Amber storyline finale in season 4?

The story behind the answer

“House’s Head” is the first part of House M.D.’s two-part Amber storyline finale in season four.

The episode follows House after he wakes with no clear memory of events at a bus stop. He believes that a passenger on the bus may be seriously ill, so he tries to reconstruct the night and identify the patient. The investigation becomes increasingly psychological as House searches his damaged memory for the missing detail.

“House’s Head” ends with House remembering that Amber Volakis was involved in the incident. The story continues immediately in “Wilson’s Heart,” which reveals the medical consequences and explores Wilson’s relationship with Amber. Together, the episodes are among the show’s most important season finales.

The title is often confused with “Wilson’s Heart” because the two episodes are usually discussed as one continuous story. Their order is fixed: “House’s Head” comes first, followed by “Wilson’s Heart.” The episodes originally aired in May 2008.
