“Help Me” is the House M.D. episode in which the diagnostic team treats a patient trapped in a collapsed building.
The episode is the two-part finale of the sixth season and aired on May 17, 2010. House and his colleagues respond to a building collapse, where a trapped woman has a severely injured leg. The emergency setting forces the doctors to make decisions with limited information and time.
The case becomes especially difficult because saving the patient may require an amputation. House’s choices during the rescue and afterward reveal tensions between medical judgment, emotional attachment, and the desire to preserve a patient’s future.
“Help Me” was written by Peter Blake and David Shore and directed by Katie Jacobs. It is often remembered as one of the series’ most visually distinctive episodes because much of its action takes place at the disaster site rather than inside the hospital.
