Which House M.D. character was played by actress Anne Dudek?

Anne Dudek played Amber Volakis in House M.D.

Amber Volakis was a physician who competed for a position on House's diagnostic team during the show's fourth season. Her aggressive ambition earned her the nickname "Cutthroat Bitch," a label reflecting the competitive elimination process rather than her official medical title. She was eventually dismissed, but remained important to the story through her relationship with James Wilson.

Volakis later became Wilson's partner. Her death followed a bus accident after she accompanied an intoxicated House, creating one of the show's most consequential consequences for House and Wilson. The two-part season-four finale, "House's Head" and "Wilson's Heart," revealed the events surrounding the accident.

Dudek appeared in numerous television productions beyond House M.D., including Mad Men and Covert Affairs. Amber is sometimes confused with the regular female doctors on House's original team, but she was a later applicant and temporary member of the diagnostic group.
