Eric Foreman is the neurologist who joins House’s original diagnostic team in season one.
Foreman is played by Omar Epps and begins the series as one of House’s three fellows, alongside Robert Chase and Allison Cameron. His specialty in neurology gives the team expertise in disorders affecting the brain, nerves, and spinal cord.
Foreman often challenges House’s methods while still learning from his diagnostic skill. Over time, he develops from a junior doctor into a senior physician and hospital administrator. His professional growth becomes one of the show’s continuing character arcs.
Foreman should not be confused with James Wilson, who is an oncologist, or Robert Chase, who later specializes in intensive care and surgery. The original team’s specialties are part of the show’s premise: difficult cases are approached by doctors with different medical backgrounds.
