Which House M.D. cast member played surgeon Robert Chase?

Jesse Spencer played surgeon Robert Chase in House M.D.

Chase is one of the original members of House’s diagnostic team. He begins the series as an intensive-care specialist and later works primarily as a surgeon. His medical background gives the team operative expertise, while his changing relationship with House provides a recurring source of professional tension.

Spencer remained with the series for its full eight-season run, although Chase’s role and position changed as the team was reorganized. By the later seasons, he had become a more experienced physician and eventually assumed leadership of the diagnostic department.

The Australian actor is also known for playing Matthew Casey in Chicago Fire. House viewers may confuse him with Omar Epps, who played neurologist Eric Foreman, or Hugh Laurie, who played Gregory House. Those performers portrayed different members of the hospital’s medical staff.
