Which Hot Wheels model is a classic hot rod with a long hood and two engines?

The story behind the answer

The Hot Wheels model that is a classic hot rod with a long hood and two engines is the Twin Mill.

Designed by Ira Gilford, the Twin Mill was introduced in the 1969 Hot Wheels lineup as one of the brand’s first original fantasy designs. Its defining visual feature is a pair of large exposed engines, giving the car its name and an unmistakable wide, dramatic profile.

The Twin Mill was not based on a conventional production car. It represented Mattel’s late-1960s approach of creating exaggerated hot rods with oversized engines, custom proportions and futuristic styling. That separates it from models such as the Rodger Dodger, Bone Shaker and Deora, which have different designs and histories.

Hot Wheels later built a full-size, functioning Twin Mill replica, unveiled in 2001. The model has remained one of the company’s best-known original creations and has appeared in many later releases and media projects.
