The Mayflower Compact is the historic document depicted by one of the five 2026 Semiquincentennial quarters.

The Mayflower Compact was signed in 1620 by English settlers aboard the Mayflower before they established Plymouth Colony. It set out an agreement for self-government and mutual political cooperation among the settlers, making it an important early document in the history of English settlement in North America.

Its inclusion gives the Semiquincentennial coin series a chronology that begins before the Revolutionary War. The other quarter subjects move through the American Revolutionary War, the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution and the Gettysburg Address.

The Mayflower Compact is not a founding document of the United States government in the same sense as the Constitution. It predates independence by more than 150 years, but it is often discussed as an early example of consensual colonial self-government.
