Which high school did Tom Brady attend in San Mateo?
Answer
Junípero Serra High School
Answer
Junípero Serra High School
Tom Brady attended Junípero Serra High School in San Mateo, California. He graduated in 1995 after playing football, basketball and baseball for the school.
Brady was not an immediate star quarterback. He began as the backup on Serra’s junior-varsity team, but took over when the starter was injured. He later became the varsity starter and worked hard to attract college recruiters, creating highlight tapes and sending them to schools before online recruiting was commonplace.
His high-school football career eventually produced 236 completions on 447 attempts, 3,702 passing yards and 31 touchdowns. Brady also played baseball and faced future major-league player Pat Burrell, a rival from Bellarmine College Preparatory. Bellarmine is therefore a common mix-up: it was a rival school, not Brady’s school. Serra later honored him by naming its football stadium Brady Family Stadium.
