Mercy’s real name is Angela Ziegler. She is a Swiss doctor and support hero whose call sign became one of Overwatch’s most recognizable identities.

Before joining the organization, Angela became a prominent medical researcher and developed breakthrough work in applied nanobiology. Overwatch recruited her for its medical expertise, and she eventually served as a field medic, first responder, and head of medical research.

Her gameplay reflects that background. Mercy uses the Caduceus Staff to heal or boost allies, Guardian Angel to fly toward teammates, and Valkyrie to enhance her mobility and support abilities.
