Which hero captured Cerberus as his final labor?

Heracles captured Cerberus as the twelfth and final labor imposed on him.

Cerberus was the monstrous guard dog of the underworld, usually described as having three heads, a serpent for a tail, and snakes rising from his body. Heracles’ task was not to kill the creature but to bring it alive from Hades to the surface, making the assignment a test of strength, courage, and control.

Before descending, Heracles was initiated into the Eleusinian Mysteries, according to the tradition preserved by Apollodorus. Hermes and Athena guided him through the underworld. Heracles asked Hades for permission to take Cerberus, and Hades agreed on the condition that the hero subdue the dog without weapons.

Heracles overpowered Cerberus with his bare hands and carried him out. When the terrified Eurystheus saw the beast, he hid in a storage jar and begged for its return. Heracles eventually took Cerberus back to Hades. Perseus, Odysseus, and Theseus also entered underworld stories, but none captured Cerberus as the final labor.
